The pandemic brought about many changes to our world and practice, including a greater acceptance of “virtual” courtrooms, as well as an almost under-the-radar collection of changes to the Bankruptcy Code over the past year or so designed to alleviate some of the economic oddities that came about because of the lockdown. Two industry stalwarts, Bill Brandt and Rick Mikels, who are both veterans of the legislative debates, will discuss these changes to the Bankruptcy Code, both those enacted because of the pandemic and those that were in the works just before (such as the SBRA), as well as discuss the fact that these changes to the Code, and to our practice and industry, are just the tip of the iceberg for now, with more changes likely coming legislatively in the coming year or two.
